25 YEARS OF MEMBERSHIP RECOGNIZED
Agnes Massacesi, a retired teacher in the Tunkhannock Area School District
and member of the Beta Rho Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society
International (DKG), was recently recognized by the chapter. Agnes was inducted
into the Society as an active member in 1997. During her twenty-five years of
membership, Agnes has served as the president, first vice-president,
parliamentarian, program chairman, nominating chairman and the professional
affairs/US Forum chairman.
Because of some health issues, Agnes was unable to attend the regular chapter
meetings in October and December to receive her pin. After her recovery, she
recently met with Karen Voigt, President Pat Carpenter and Cindy Reynolds at the
home of Teresa Cavalier in Tunkhannock. The presentation of her 25 years of
membership was made by chapter membership chairman Karen Voigt with a brief
overview of Agnes’ membership involvement during her years of membership.
Following the pin presentation, the group looked over a variety of crafts which
Teresa has done. The chapter is planning to host a table of crafts for sale at
“Christmas in Montrose,” December 2, 2023. The funds will be used to support its
chapter’s goal to promote professional and personal growth of women educators
and excellence in education. Samples of the crafts will be presented at the March
meeting by Projects Chairman Peggy Walker as examples of ideas of crafts to
make and sell. Teresa has generously volunteered to host a craft-making day at her
home in the spring.
Teresa then served a lovely lunch and the six chapter members enjoyed sharing
conversation.
