Beta Rho Chapter “Zooms” December MeetingAlthough there was no coffee and cookies, cheese and crackers or other snacks, the Beta Rho Chapter of DKG once again held its chapter meeting virtually with twenty-seven members present. The first half hour was an enjoyable social time for members to converse and share “seeing” each other, similar to how they do when they gather in person for a meeting.
President Jeanette Saulo opened the business meeting welcoming everyone and then the flag salute, National Anthem and the Collect were led by Amy Radford. Some of the highlights of the business meeting included several committee reports. Chairman of the Personal Growth and Services committee Leslie Gossage shared the results of the community project “Pack a Purse” for the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) which was collected during the previous week. A total of twenty-four packed purses and tote bags filled with personal items were collected and will be distributed to women displaced because of domestic violence through the WRC. A variety of school supplies was also collected at the same time to be packed in S.E.E. (Support Early Educators) baskets to be given to teachers early in their careers. Kathy Roe suggested two teachers new to the Blue Ridge District where she is a Title 1 Reading Specialist.
